The Republic of Liberia is a country on the west coast of Africa. 2009 population estimate is close to 4 million. The landscape of Liberia is characterized by mostly flat to rolling coastal plains that contain mangroves and swamps, which rise to a rolling plateau and low mountains in the north-east. In 1989 the first Liberian civil war begin. These troubled times ended officially with the presidential election on October 11, 2005.
ABC Children's Aid Liberia
ABC Children´s Aid Liberia was established in desember 2006.
ABC Children's Aid International has appointed Hilda Maria Videro as a new director over the work of ABC in Liberia.
ABC Children's Aid has got a piece of land in Liberia where facilities are being built to house and educate hundreds of children. The first phase of the girl's dormitary and school building is almost finished and dining hall is on the way.
The main support for the work in Liberia has been coming from ABC Faroe Islands and ABC Iceland
