The Republic of Iceland is a European island country located in the North Atlantic Ocean. Population is 320 thousand and a total area of 103 thousand square km. Iceland has rich and diverse landscape with mountains, lava, glaciers and waterfalls of spectacular beauty.
ABC Children's Aid Iceland
ABC Iceland was the first ABC organization. It was launched in 1988 as an Icelandic, interdenominational relief organization. The purpose was to give underprivileged children permanent help and be a channel for the gifts of generous Icelanders to reach children in need without any portions of the funds going into overhead.
ABC International was birthed out of ABC Iceland, February 1, 2007.
ABC internationally now sponsors around 12.000 children with the help of supporters around the world. Most of the supports come from Iceland but the goal of ABC is to grow it's support base globally because of many good opportunities to change the lives of thousands of children.
The help provided is focused around education - but also health care and other basic needs of the children.
All donations for ABC Iceland go directly to help the children except those donation that are especially earmarked for cost of operation.
